The Candela is the blog of PTB’s International Cooperation. We support our partner countries in the development of quality infrastructure. On the blog you will find regular news about our projects and events.

In our blog Candela, the International Cooperation of the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt Braunschweig presents the results of its work. In the field of development cooperation PTB supports the partner countries in establishing national metrology, standardization, testing, certification and accreditation systems – also referred to as quality infrastructure.

Online Poster Presentation

Decision and Program Schedule

The decision and the program schedule for the online poster presentation is out. 

The participant have been assigned a time slot and will present their topics to the Technical Committee for 5 mins. After the presentation there will be a 2 min Q&A session. The participant will be graded by both the technical committee and the core committee.

Additionally, at the end of the event, the top three highly graded presentations will be awarded certificates during the valedictory ceremony.

Women in Metrology & Energy Research (WIMER)

Share, network & learn

This session aims to bring women scientists, doctoral candidates, and students worldwide working in the area of Metrology and Energy Research together on a common stage. The event is categorized into two sections: firstly, focusing on presentations and secondly, networking.

On 7th April 2022, our get-together of "Women in Metrology and Energy Research (WIMER)" is scheduled from 15:00 to 17:00 CET as an online event. We have invited the following WIMER to share their experiences and interact with budding scientists, engineers, and managers.

Call for Poster Abstracts

Dear participants,

We kindly ask you to submit an abstract of your poster by March 10th, 2022 (CET). Please use the following file name format for your Word document:
GH2Fuels_Abstract_Surname.docx

The abstracts will be reviewed by the session chairs, and, after acceptance, the posters must be submitted by March 29th, 2022 (CET).

It will be uploaded on our website before the conference so that attendees can have a sneak peek of your presentation.

International Laser Workshop

7th & 8th of March 2022

PTB - The National Metrology Institute of Germany and IMEKO - International Measurement Conferderation have joined hands to initate the first international workshop focusing on application of laser diagnostics in the renewable energy sector. The workshop provides a platform for participants working in the area of ​​various laser-based diagnostic methods in different applications to come together and share their expertise in respective forums. More details of the actual program will be made available on the workshop website.
